NZ opioid substitution treatment guidelines review

Friday, 11 January 2008.
By Sheridan, Regional Consumer Advisor, Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland

The Opioid Substitution Treatment New Zealand Practice Guidelines 2003 are currently being reviewed.

If you would like to, this is your opportunity to have input into the National Guidelines which provide the framework for services to deliver Opioid Substitution Treatment (i.e. methadone treatment).  (All services providing Opioid Substitution Treatment also have local policies which need to fit within this national framework.)

The project is being led by Raine Berry on behalf of the National Association of Opioid Treatment Providers and Sheridan (the CADS Regional Consumer Advisor) is one of the consumer members of the reference group for the review.

The process is to gather feedback in regard to the questions in the attached discussion document and collate for further discussion.

You can click here to Google "Opioid Substitution Treatment New Zealand Practice Guidelines" and the document under review will come up for you to refer to.
