Family Service Coordinator in CADS

Family Service Coordinator in CADS (Duncan Poole) ** Community Alcohol and Drug Service (CAD) - Auckland
Duncan Poole is the Family Service Coordinator in CADS.

Friday, 4 November 2005.

My name is Duncan Poole and I would like to introduce myself as the new family service coordinator with CADS. This is a relatively new role which is designed to assist family and other support people’s participation in the service.

I have worked in the addiction field for about nine years. Previously I was team leader at a residential alcohol and drug programme in Auckland. A big part of my role there was to facilitate family sessions with clients and to run education groups for family. From this experience I learnt how hugely important having family and others involved in the recovery process is.

There are two main threads to my role. The first is to assist CADS with the delivery of the service for particular clients and their support network (i.e. to support our staff to run family sessions with a specific client and family).

Secondly I am also here to listen to family and other support people about how they feel the service can be improved for them in a general sense. This helps us at CADS to change our systems and procedures to ensure they meet the needs of family etc. If you have any particular questions you want answered or if there is any feedback you want to give us then please contact me at:
