Here at CADS, we are aware that being alongside someone who is using substances problematically can be very stressful and may have a negative impact on family in many ways, emotionally, financially and socially. Families therefore may need to access services themselves for support.
We are also aware that when our clients have family included in their treatment it strengthens the work we do and can enhance positive outcomes.
CADS is committed to including family in our service provision. If you have concerns about another person’s use of alcohol and/or other drugs and want information about treatment options for the person who is using or seeking support in your own right, then we have a range of options for you:
- Information about the process of dependency and recovery
- Information about substances
- One to one counselling for you
- Family & friends support groups at all CADS Units
- An online Family & Friends support group
If the person you are concerned about is a client of CADS then it may be possible for you to be included in their treatment plan (if they are willing).
