Guidelines 2003 are currently being reviewed.
This is your opportunity to have input into the National Guidelines which provide the framework for services to deliver Opioid Substitution Treatment (i.e. methadone treatment). All comments need to be in by the end of Feb 2008. For more info, click here. |
Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) is well researched as an effective and successful opioid substitution treatment.
People addicted to opioids/opiates can be at risk of physical, psychological and social problems; methadone treatment can provide people with support and the stability to deal with these issues.
The Auckland Methadone Service (AMS) provides free methadone maintenance treatment and support through a team of doctors, case managers, pharmacists, GPs and other health professionals and agencies.
If you are concerned about your own opioid use and are considering methadone maintenance as a treatment option, phone CADS on 845-1818, or click on the link below.
