Community Alcohol and Drug Services (CADS) Auckland CADSonline Service

CADSonline offers live, online alcohol and other drug, group counselling that is free to anybody in the greater Auckland region.

We offer a range of day and evening groups including: Family and Friends, Methadone Support and 12 Step Abstinent groups. Other groups will be available over time see, contact information below.

The groups are facilitated by two professionally trained alcohol and drug counsellors. Once in group you will see live video of the facilitator and can communicate with them and the other group members using real time audio. You are not visible to anyone else, so this way you maintain a level of privacy. Click on link below for a recorded demonstration of an online group.

To arrange an assessment and referral at your local CADS unit, or to find out more information call 845 1818, contact us online (click here), or talk to your CADS counsellor.

CADSonline provides the benefits of live alcohol and other drug support groups from your own private computer space. See the technical requirements below.
 

Technical requirements

CADSonline will provide technical support and a secure online environment that protects your privacy. Please note that you do not have to be a technical wizard to take part!

What you need:

  • A PC in a private space running Windows 2000 or better (eg XP).
  • An internet connection, preferably broadband.
  • Headphones with microphone (can be supplied by CADS).
